Medical Assistant / X-Ray Tech at Huntsville Hospital Urgent Care - PRN

Urgent Team is looking for experienced Medical Assistant/X-Ray Techs to join our PRN team at Huntsville Hospital Urgent Care in Athens, Alabama.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be all inclusive.
Other duties may be assigned.
o Promptly greets patients when entering waiting area, exam room, and laboratory or x-rayroom.
o Consistently communicates with patients on wait times; provides direction to the nextstep in the treatment processo Provides solutions to patient problems and recognizes and seeks help in emergent /hazardous situations.
o Provides timely follow up regarding lab and x-ray results.
o Executes follow-up calls with sense of urgency.
o Assists front desk personnel with patient check in/out procedures when necessary.
o Obtains and accurately documents patient vital signs and weight, takes brief history, pastmedical, family and social history current medications, allergies and other pertinenthistorical information as appropriate.
o Assists with patient transfers.
o Assists with procedures directly supervised by the provider.
o Assists in lab procedures under the supervision of the provider.
o Prepares patients for radiologic procedures and follows established clinical andregulatory procedures in regards to patient safety and care; including proper radiationprotection and shielding techniques.
o Perform phlebotomy, injections, medical procedures and laboratory proceduresappropriate for level of training under the direction of a provider.
o Performs timely radiology procedures for subsequent evaluation and treatment by attending physiciano Performs necessary quality control procedures to ensure quality exams are performedo Prepares patients for radiologic procedures and follows established clinical and regulatory procedures in regards to patient safety and care; including proper radiation protection and shielding techniques.
This position will also perform x-ray testing including body mechanics and patient movement using knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
Operates diagnostic equipment, develops film and prepares the room with the necessary equipment and supplies for the procedure.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEo High school diploma or equivalent education based on certification type; skills in Medical Assisting are requiredo Valid ARRT certification and/or a State X-Ray license is preferredPLEASE NOTE:
